Ange Postecoglou has been praised for giving the perfect response to a ‘disrespectful’ question put to him on the Tamworth game.
The Tottenham boss launched a passionate defence of his side over suggestions they will disrespect their FA Cup Third Round opponents, Tamworth, and their facilities.
Speaking ahead of their FA Cup Third Round tie away at the fifth-tier side on Sunday afternoon, the Australian declared his Tottenham team are “actually not multi-million dollar players, they are human beings.”
The question put to him: “Hi. Zara from ITV News. So my colleagues at the Tamworth ground right now, astro turf pitch, apparently, the dressing room’s barely a cabin. I know you’re used to that, but is this gonna be a shock to the system for your multimillion pound players?”
Have a watch of the video below for the question and his response…
Wow. @itvnews – “Zara” ..what an absolutely disrespectful way to behave to Tamworth and Ange. Proper scummy question hoping for some bants and a bite to report on. pic.twitter.com/q0ZRXpY0aM

Tottenham head to Tamworth in the FA Cup today, what sort of question is this?
“Tamworth’s dressing room is barely a cabin, is this gonna be a shock to your multi million pound players?” 😒
Handled perfectly by Ange. 👏pic.twitter.com/rgQMuFJCNs

Ange responded: “They’re actually not multimillion dollar players. They’re human beings who are very well, sort of they’re very understanding. They’re good people, so they would never go to a place like that and disrespect it. Most of them have come from places like that. Some worse, let me tell you.
“So you won’t find you know, they’re I know people wanna tag them as a multimillion dollar sort of, you know, maybe sport, but they’re but they’re human beings and they’re good people.
“And they’ll go there and they’ll respect the fact that, you know, Tamworth are are gonna build it up for their biggest game of probably their lives.
“And, you know, I’m sure they’ll do their best to to create an environment where, you know, it’s they’re gonna be proud of their ground.
“They’re gonna be proud of their facilities because that’s that’s what they work with, and that’s how we’ll treat it on the day.
“So, I don’t really think that’s an issue for us. What’s important for us is to prepare ourselves for, you know, an important cupcake.”

Ange Postecoglou spoke to ITV before the game: “It’s what the FA Cup is all about and I’m sure the people of Tamworth are looking forward too it and we are as well.
“There’s a connection with grassroots somewhere, a neighbourhood where they grew up and small community clubs nourished their love for the game.
“I’m sure all the boys are looking forward to it. I think the boys are genuinely excited for the game.”
On Mikey Moore: “He got hit hard by the virus, but he has worked hard with training and he’s looking forward to the game today.”
On Tamworth’s long throw threat: “Real challenge – every team has their strength and it is about us minimising that.
“Stay focused, stay disciplined and play our football.”

As mentioned, Ange Postecoglou was praised for perfect response to a ‘disrespectful’ question on the Tamworth game..
@Worldcupwil1966: Embarrassing. A question asked by a reporter who has no idea about football. No idea about pushing through from grass roots football. A journey all professional player go through. These are Roll Royce facilities vs some of the pitches my lad has to play on.
@JamieFleig: Liking this guy more and more with every interview
@AndyBranton84: The worst question of all time. So condescending. Ange answered like a champ
@kevthegooner1: The quality of journalism has nosedive so much in the last few years, totally stupid question and well handled
@MancPaulus: Always comes across excellent in what He says.
@wackerlegend: What a stupid question, all footballers start at the bottom & work their way up
@BlueNWhite23: What a stupid question. Totally irrelevant.
@sweetfa21: What kind of journalist asks that question ffs! Jesus!
@goonerjohn57: Where do these journalists think most of the players come from they all start at the bottom grassroots football
@sameran16: Handled this astutely. There are players in the PL that literally come from favelas and ghettos, that are genuinely nearly as bad as Tamworth. What an awful question.
@_13JM: Ange is very good at setting some of these journalists scooping for headline straight. Well done Ange
@paulscarrington: I support arsenal but what an answer from ange there! He handles himself better than any other manager I’ve seen in my opinion
@JackSamuelWard: This guy is great. Spot on as usual
@peterd645: Great answer
@eyesareopen78: That’s a great answer from Ange, people think these players are born into multi billon pound stadiums
@JakeRuss1000: So disrespectful from the journalist. Glad Ange shut em down with a brilliant, articulated answer like that. Brilliant man
@aj_Horsham: quite disrespectful to Tamworth personally from the Journalist. Ange covered it well
@KevinOxford: Worst question of the year followed by the best answer of the year.
@JRBulman: Very respectful answer. Most players at some point (grassroots, school, academy matches, out on loan) will have come across terrible facilities. Tamworth are non league but hardly the Dog & Duck Sunday league.
@mappatassie73: This is why we like Ange. He’s about setting a culture. That takes time though. Sadly most football clubs want instant success and when they don’t get it, they give the manager the flick. If Spurs supporters can handle a bit of short-term duress, they’ll get long-term success.
