Factory V8-Inspired Rover 4.2/5-Speed Build: 1974.5 MGB GT

This 1974.5 MGB GT (chassisGHD5UE361145G) started life as any other, but was converted at some point to run a 4.2 liter Rover V8 and 5-speed manual transmission. It sounds like lots of additional work accompanied the swap, including a new interior, a respray in attractivePewter Metallic Silver andmore. Rare factory MGB GT V8 wheels are a really neat touch, and overall the build appears to have been a high-quality job. Output isn’t mentioned, but we estimate the all-aluminum motor should be putting out a solid ~250 HP. That’s a big number for any B, but not wildly excessive either, and the seller says it’s quiet and comfortable to drive. Find it here on Craigslistin Verona, Pennsylvania for $38k.

Twin Screaming Jimmies: 1960 FWD P-2 Air Force Crash Truck

This 1960’s FWD (Four Wheel Drive Auto Company) P-2 is a former US Air Force ARFF (Aircraft Rescue & Firefighting) that was overhauled by the Quality Truck company in 1980 and subsequently renamed the P-2A. Speculation varies as to when model production originally began, but most estimates seem to point to 1962, and it sounds as if power would have originally been supplied by two rear-mounted gasoline engines rather than the twin Detroit Diesel 8V-71’s now in residence. The truck is very interesting, featuring many unusual build, styling and technical details including eight-wheel drive, full locking differentials and of course its twin two-stroke Screaming Jimmys. The truck runs and is drivable, though the seller freely admits it’s going to need some work.Find it here on Craigslistin Mountainair, New Mexico for $15k.
